June 8–10, 2021. – Representatives of ROSATOM State Corporation took part in Nordic Nuclear Forum 2021, the biggest international forum of the nuclear industry in Northern Europe. The Forum was organized by FinNuclear, the Finnish Nuclear Industry Association. ROSATOM is a traditional partner of the event. This Forum’s edition took place online due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Forum’s main program featured presentation by Anton Dedusenko, Deputy CEO of REIN JSC (part of ROSATOM). Special attention was given to the prospects of combining large and small capacity in the orders portfolio of ROSATOM.
“Today, there is still a big market for large-capacity NPPs, including in developed countries. At the same time, ROSATOM is developing its offer with an eye to projected market conjuncture and the growing interest to small capacity. We operate the world’s only floating NPP Akademik Lomonosov with KLT-40S reactors. State-of-the-art RITM-200 reactors are installed at icebreakers Arktika, Sibir and Ural. Works are underway to integrate existing and future small capacity solutions into ROSATOM’s combined offer in response to emerging demand in the market,” noted Anton Dedusenko.
On the second day, ROSATOM held a special session on the Hanhikivi 1 project opportunities for suppliers. Petr Patsev, Head of Nuclear Projects Procurement Department at JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 (the main contractor for NPP construction) provided a detailed overview of qualification procedures and requirements to companies wishing to enter the project. His presentation was followed by Johanna Takanen, Project Manager at Takanen MR Oy, who shared successful experience of her company going through the entire procurement process to become a supplier. The session was attended by more than 60 viewers, who were asking questions in the chat in real-time.
