The scope of works on overall I&C supply under the contract with the General Supplier of Hanhikivi-1 NPP project, RAOS Project Oy, has been transferred from JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 to Rusatom Automated Control Systems JSC (RASU JSC, a company of Rosatom State Corporation), the integrator of the Russian nuclear industry responsible for NPP I&C design, development, commissioning, service and modernization. RASU JSC and JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 signed the corresponding agreement in the beginning of April 2021.
Earlier JSC CONCERN TITAN-2, the contractor for equipment supply and construction of Hanhikivi-1 NPP, after a tender procedure with the participation of international vendors, awarded a contract for Main I&C supply to the consortium of Framatome SAS (France) and Siemens AG (Germany). Under the new contract, RASU JSC became a technical leader and integrator of I&C works.
The transfer of rights and authorities, and the leading role of RASU JSC in the Overall I&C supply have led to a change in the project organization. Contracts with Framatome SAS / Siemens AG, ZAT a.s., Mirion Technologies (MGPI) SAS, NRC Kurchatov Institute, VUJE a.s. have been novated from JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 to RASU JSC. Capabilities of RASU JSC as I&C designer, integrator and overall supplier for Hanhikivi NPP project were demonstrated successfully in the audit held by Fennovoima, the plant Owner, in February this year.
“The purpose of the new approach is to have a single entity responsible for the full scope of I&C works, including incoming inspection, adjustment, delivery and commissioning of equipment on site. Such changes will ensure better coordination between all stakeholders and contribute to the success of the project”, said Andrey Butko, CEO of RASU JSC.
The Hanhikivi-1 Nuclear Power Plant project, located on the Hanhikivi Peninsula in the Finnish region of Northern Ostrobothnia, involves the construction of a single unit featuring a modern Russian-designed VVER-1200 Generation III+ reactor. Once operational, the plant will have the capacity to generate 1,200 megawatts of electricity. The project is currently in the construction licensing phase, with some preparatory works ongoing on site.
Finnish company Fennovoima Oy is the licensee, owner and the future operator of the plant. Under an engineering, procurement and construction contract with Fennovoima Oy, RAOS Project Oy will supply a fully operational plant on a turnkey basis. RAOS Project Oy is a subsidiary of JSC Rusatom Energy International (JSC REIN, a company of Rosatom State Corporation).
Working with RAOS Project Oy, JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 (a holding company of Rosatom State Corporation) is the main contractor for the plant construction, installation and equipment supply.
Rusatom Automated Control Systems JSC (RASU JSC) brings together the extensive experience of Rosatom’s enterprises in the development of automated control systems and comprehensive electrical engineering solutions. The company performs the full scope of activities in cooperation with partners, from engineering and design to delivery and commissioning of I&C systems and electrical equipment, both in Russia and abroad.
