On September 1, the nuclear power plant photo exhibition has started in the local library of Pyhäjoki. 22 photos tell the construction story of the Leningrad NPP-2 in Sosnovy Bor fr om the foundation to its commissioning.
The exhibition aims to describe the stages the construction of Hanhikivi 1 power plant will go through. Leningrad NPP-2 with VVER-1200 reactors, wh ere Unit 1 has already been in operation for more than two years, is the reference plant for Hanhikivi 1 NPP.
The photographer, Alexandr Kashin from TITAN-2, has photographed nuclear power plants for years. He graduated from the Baltic State University Voenmech in 2002. Alexandr Kashin is the many times winner of photo contests organized by Rosatom.
“As a schoolboy, I was attracted by photography and design while studying at the art school. I started doing layouts, printing designs and more. Now I’m fully responsible for the visual image and brand and corporate events of the TITAN-2 Holding”, says Alexandr Kashin.
“It is very nice to see how interested people are about the exhibition. As the saying goes, a picture says more than a thousand words”, says Dr. Rainer Goehring, Hanhikivi 1 NPP Site Director of RAOS Project Oy.
“The municipality of Pyhäjoki and the plant supplier RAOS Project share a common goal – we want the Hanhikivi 1 project to be as successful as possible, and we will all work together to reach this goal. It is great to collaborate in many different ways and the exhibition is one of them”, says Niko Rantanen from Pyhäjoki municipality.
“The photographs reveal to the audience the power and scale of modern approaches to the construction of nuclear power plants. This is an industrial beauty created by the employees of the TITAN-2 Holding. And the author of the photos, Alexander Kashin, keeps the best moments for us,” comments Konstantin Avvakumov, Director for the Hanhikivi 1 NPP Construction Program at JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 Finnish branch.
RAOS Project and the main contractor TITAN-2 organize a photo exhibition in four different locations in the Hanhikivi 1 Project region from August to November 2021. “The exhibition was successfully held in Siikajoki in August, now it is open for a month in Pyhäjoki, then it will continue in October in Raahe and in November in Kalajoki”, concludes Outi Pauliina Pelkonen, PR manager of RAOS Project Oy.
